Safety & Security

Your safety and the security of your personal property are of the utmost concern to those of us who welcome you as our guest.
We urge you to take advantage of the following suggestions.

Admittance

Identify every person first before you allow them into your room. A door viewer is provided in your door for your safety and convenience. Never sit in your room with the door open, and never invite strangers into your room. If there is any doubt about the true identity of a person seeking admittance to your room, please contact the Front Desk.

Double Locks & Chains

Utilize the deadbolt provided on your door upon entering. This prevents the door from being opened by a room key. Also, please secure the safety chainlock.

Fire

Familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest fire exit. In case of a fire, proceed quickly and calmly to the stairs. If there is some smoke, crawl; the freshest air is near the floor. Do not panic. Report fire to the hotel operator.

Keys

Safeguard your key and keep it with you at all times. Do not leave it unattended in your room, by the swimming pool, or elsewhere. Upon departure leave your key with the desk clerk. Do not leave it in the room or in the door. Do not give your key to anyone else.

Safe Deposit Boxes

Do not leave valuables or money in your room or vehicle. Safe deposit boxes are provided for your use at our Front Desk at no charge. State law stipulates that the hotel is not responsible for loss unless articles have been secured properly in these boxes.

Vehicles

Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. Please keep your vehicle locked. Hotel assumes no liability for theft or damage to vehicles.

Earthquake Safety

If you feel any shaking:

  • Drop, cover and hold on: drop down to the floor as soon as you perceive an earthquake has started; drop down before the earthquake drops you down.
  • Then seek shelter under a desk or table. Crouch down on your knees so that you can move with the table. Hold on to the table leg(s) so you can keep the table over you.
  • If there is no nearby desk or table, sit on the floor against an inside wall, away from windows, tall furniture or bookcases. Draw up your knees, bend your head toward your knees. Protect your head and neck with your arms.
  • Go outside once the shaking stops. Make sure you are wearing sturdy shoes before leaving the building. If possible take valuables and medications. Avoid touching downed power lines.
  • If access to exit doors is blocked by earthquake damage, wait for a rescue team.
