We will try our best to make you feel comfortable and at home. We realize from past experience that our guests have some needs we cannot anticipate and only hope you will bring them to our attention. Check-in time is 3 pm. Checkout time is 11 am. In the event of a late checkout, please make arrangements with the Front Desk in advance.

Please join us for breakfast every morning from 6:30 am to 9:30 am in the Breakfast Room off the Lobby. Coffee and Tea are also available in the Lobby 24 hours a day.

Conference rooms accommodating up to 16 people are available for business meetings and other events. For information or to make reservations, please contact the Front Desk.
Copy Service
Black and white copies are available at the Front Desk at no charge.
Credit & Debit Cards
For your convenience we accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, We also accept travelers checks and debit cards. Please be aware that if you use the latter, upon check-in the pre-authorization will appear as a “Merchant Authorization” on your account. If you use the same card for payment, the funds will be debited from your account when you check out. However, if you use a different method of payment, it generally takes 3 to 5 business days for your financial institution to release the funds being held by the pre-authorization and make them available to you.

Cribs are available at no additional charge. Please contact the Front Desk to request one.

In case of a police, fire or ambulance emergency, dial 9, wait for a dial tone, then dial 911.
Exercise/Fitness Center
Guests are invited to work out in our state-of-the-art exercise room that is open 24 hours for your convenience. Please refer to the Property Layout map in this directory for its location. Your room key card will allow you access.
Fax Service
Incoming faxes and outgoing local faxes are provided complimentary. Long distance fax service is available at the Front Desk. The number for incoming faxes is 707-826-9319.

As a courtesy to our guests, we are happy to provide complimentary personal items such as combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, shower caps, deodorant and sewing kits.

Due to the popularity of our guest room amenities, our Housekeeping Department now offers these items for sale:

Each room attendant is responsible for maintaining that room’s guest items. Should you decide to take any of these articles from your room instead of obtaining them from housekeeping, we will assume you approve of a corresponding charge to your account. Thank you!

Please dial 0 to contact the Housekeeping Department for any housekeeping service needs, including extra towels, linens or blankets.
Ice Machines
Ice machines are conveniently located on each floor at the end of the hall.
In-Room Amenities
For your convenience guest rooms come equipped with coffee makers, refrigerators, microwaves, iron and ironing boards, hair dryers, clock radios, 37″ TVs with remote control and room safes.
Internet Access
We are proud to offer complimentary Wi-Fi and wired internet access in all our guest rooms. You will be given your login password upon checking in. If you experience any difficulty accessing the internet, please call the Front Desk 24 hours a day.
Internet Use, Terms and Conditions
By using our internet service, you hereby expressly acknowledge and agree that there are significant security, privacy and confidentiality risks inherent in accessing or transmitting information through the internet, whether the connection is facilitated through wired or wireless technology. Security issues include, without limitation, interception of transmissions, loss of data and the introduction of viruses and other programs that can corrupt or damage your computer.
Accordingly you agree that Comfort Inn Arcata is not liable for any interception of transmissions, computer worms or viruses, loss of data, file corruption, and/or hacking or damage to your computer or others that result from the transmissions or download of information or materials through the internet service provided.
Key Cards
If you lose your key card, please notify the Front Desk immediately. We will gladly provide you with a replacement upon presentation of photo identification. If your ID is locked in your room, hotel staff will assist you in retrieving it.
Laundry
The guest laundry room is located near the Lobby. It is available 24 hours a day.
Lost & Found
Please dial 0 to contact the Front desk regarding any items you may have lost or found.
Luggage Assistance
Our helpful staff will be happy to assist disabled guests with their luggage. Please contact the Front Desk.
Mail may be dropped off or picked up at the Front Desk.
Messages & Voice Mail
If you have a message or mail, the light on your phone will be illuminated. Please contact the Front Desk. To retrieve voice messages from your phone, either press the “voice mail” key or dial 44 on the key pad. Password is 7 + room number.
Newspapers
Complimentary copies of USA Today are available at the Front Desk on weekdays, while supplies last.
Pets
Pets are not permitted. The Front Desk will gladly assist you in making alternate arrangements for your pet. Guests who bring a pet into their room will incur a $100 deep-cleaning fee.
Reservations
Please contact the Front Desk for future individual or group reservations, or to reserve conference rooms.
Rollaway Beds
A limited number of rollaway beds are available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact the Front Desk to request one. A charge of $15 per night will apply.
Safe
For our guests’ peace of mind, we provide in-room safes in all our guest rooms for money, jewelry and other valuables. There is a charge of $1.50 per day for using this service.
Smoking Policy
All of our rooms are smoke-free. Guests who smoke in their room will incur a $250 deep-cleaning fee.
Sweet Shop
We have a “Sweet Shop”, where guests can purchase refreshments, candies, OTC medication, accessories and more.
Swimming Pool & Spa
Our heated indoor Swimming Pool and Spa are open from 7:30 am to 10 pm. Your room key card will allow you access to the pool area. Towels are available at the Front Desk. There are no lifeguards on duty, and children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the pool area unless accompanied by an adult. There is an outdoor patio.

Safety & Security
Traveler Safety
- Do not admit anyone into your room without first verifying his or her identity. All doors are provided with peep holes. If you are unsure of someone claiming to be a hotel employee, call the Front Desk for verification before allowing entry.
- Hotel staff members will never call your room and ask for credit card numbers or other sensitive information. Please notify the Front Desk if you receive such a call.
- Do not leave cash or other valuables unattended in your room or vehicle. Comfort Inn Arcata provides secure in-room safes for only $1.50 per day.
- Always use all locking devices on the door. Before leaving your room, double check that windows and door are all securely locked.
- Keep your room key card with you at all times. Do not leave it unattended in your room, by the swimming pool, or elsewhere.
- Report any suspicious activity that you observe to the management.
Fire Safety
- Upon checking in, locate the 2 nearest exits and the nearest fire alarm. Count the number of doors between them and your room, so that you can find your way in the event of smoke or darkness.
- If you hear an alarm or smell smoke, act immediately; don’t just investigate.
- To report a fire, dial 9, wait for a dial tone, then dial 911. Be sure to give your room number. Next, call the Front Desk by dialing 0. Then go to the door. If it is hot, do not open it. Turn off the fan or air conditioner. Cover the crack at the bottom of the door with wet towels, fill your bathtub with water, and signal from your window. Do not break the window or jump from it. Cover your mouth and nose with a folded wet towel. Wait to be rescued.
- If the door is not hot, and there is no dense smoke in the corridor, take your key card, lock the door behind you and head for the nearest exit. Pull nearest fire alarm if possible. If there is some smoke, crawl; the freshest air is near the floor. Proceed quickly but calmly. Do not panic.
Earthquake Safety
If you feel any shaking:
- Drop, cover and hold on: drop down to the floor as soon as you perceive an earthquake has started — drop down before the earthquake drops you down. Then seek shelter under a desk or table. Crouch down on your knees so that you can move with the table. Hold on to the table leg(s) so you can keep the table over you.
- If there is no nearby desk or table: sit on the floor against an inside wall, away from windows, tall furniture or bookcases. Draw up your knees, bend your head toward your knees. Protect your head and neck with your arms.
- Upon leaving the area make sure you are wearing sturdy shoes. If possible take valuables and medications. If access to exit doors is blocked by earthquake damage, wait for a rescue team.
Tsunami Safety
If you are at the beach or near the ocean and you feel the ground shake or see rapidly rising or falling coastal water levels, move immediately to higher ground and stay there until local authorities say it is safe to return. DO NOT wait for a warning to be announced. If the tsunami is caused by a remote earthquake or volcanic
eruption, you will be alerted by a siren, radio or television broadcasts, local first responders and/or an alarm at the hotel.
Often the first wave may not be the largest. The danger from a tsunami can last up to 12 hours after the arrival of the first wave. Tsunamis move faster than a person can run, and can be 30 feet high or higher; sometimes much higher. Never stay near shore to watch a tsunami come in.
